L’histoire de Michelin a commencé grâce à l’ambition de deux frères, André et Édouard Michelin.

L’Aventure Michelin: a fascinating visit

As you go round L’Aventure Michelin, you’ll overhear a conversation between the Michelin brothers that will take you back to the Industrial Revolution. You’ll be able to touch and smell rubber as you discover the secrets to this raw material. You’ll turn the pages of the very first edition of the Michelin guide to see what establishments were recommended at the time. Along the way, your visit will become a fascinating and exciting learning experience. And before you leave, you’ll be able to take a selfie with the Michelin Man to share with your friends.

Michelin the aircraft manufacturer!

Right from the beginning of the 20th century, the Michelin brothers took a keen interest in this new industry and organised amazing competitions and challenges to encourage it! During the First World War, they converted their tyre factory to produce planes for the French and American air forces. Come and see an extremely rare Bréguet-Michelin plane at L’Aventure Michelin.

Michelin a amélioré le confort de l’automobiliste en créant des panneaux de signalisation routière et des cartes.

Michelin along the roadside

Tyres are made for travelling and, right from the beginning of its history, Michelin has been marketing products and services to guide and help tourists: Michelin Guides from 1900, Michelin maps from 1910 and road signs along every road in France. At L’Aventure Michelin, come and touch authentic Michelin road signs made of enamelled volcanic lava.
